The CSA200 / CSA300 is a novel multi-pupose electron and ion energy analyser. It is ideally suited for photoelectron spectroscopy (UPS, ARUPS, XPS), Auger electron spectroscopy (AES), Ion scattering spectroscopy (ISS), Scanning Auger Microscopy (SAM) and spin polarisation analysis. The analyser has an optimized transfer lens and is housed in a mu-metal chamber as a bolt-on instrument. The control unit NGCSA covers the kinetic energy range from 0 to ± 3.2keV. The CSA200 /CSA300 is designed for highest transmission at selectable resolution and thereby meets all requirements of even low signal applications such as small-spot XPS, low intensity UPS and high resolution scanning AES.

As a special option (or as a retrofit) the CSA 300 can be equipped with an electron spin-polarization detector for spin-resolved ESCA, e.g. Photo- or Auger emission from ferromagnetic systems.

The CSA 300 can optionally be equipped with a 3-channel or a 5-channel multichannel detector system. This also possible as a retrofit.
